We are looking for a profile to lead the pricing strategy and execution at a national level, ensuring consistency between channels, geographic areas and product categories. We are looking for a person with strong analytical orientation and strategic vision, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize margins, optimize pricing processes and ensure the competitiveness of the business.
This profile will be key in making pricing decisions, supporting both commercial development and profitability control of the company.
Reporting to the Sales Director, he/she will be responsible for:
- Defining and implementing pricing strategy in collaboration with sales, procurement, finance and operations teams, ensuring alignment with the company's commercial and financial objectives.
- Establishing positioning by product category, customer segment and geographic area.
- Harmonizing pricing policies across different business units, geographies and sales channels.
- Adjusting pricing strategy according to changes in the competitive environment, changes in customer behavior and evolution of relevant macroeconomic variables (inflation, exchange rate, etc.).
- Building and maintaining a reliable and automated pricing structure that minimizes manual interventions.
- Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of pricing policies, including promotions and discounts.
- Producing the pricing KPI package, reporting the KPIs to BME Head Office, providing explanations on their evolution and working together with Group Pricing team to develop action plans to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Generating reports on the evolution of prices and margins and on the levels of compliance across the commercial organization, including proposals to facilitate decision making.
- Automating pricing processes and configuring analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, ERP).
- Train and educate the sales teams, becoming a trusted partner and working closely with them to develop better pricing strategies and implementing effective routines, including handling resistance, asking the right questions, escalating when needed, and collaborating with the Sales Director.
- Detecting situations that may indicate a lack of understanding or commitment to pricing objectives by members of the sales team and implementing actions to improve such situations.
- Accompanying and advising the commercial team with analysis of key clients and contracts.
- Being an active member of the BME pricing community, sharing best practices and promoting continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- University degree (preferably in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration or similar).
- Postgraduate training in related areas (Pricing, Finance, Strategy) will be an asset.
- More than 3 years of experience in areas related to pricing, revenue management and/or commercial analysis, preferably in B2B distribution companies.
- Knowledge of construction materials will be an asset.
- Fluent English level (mandatory).
- Advanced knowledge of analytical tools: Excel, Power BI, and experience with ERPs (such as BC, Microsoft ERP).
- Experience in cross-functional project management and collaborative environments.
- Based in Barcelona or available to work on-site.
